Toy Time, Red Gears Blue Gears, & Reading the Rumble

After Giovanni's version of Braving the Basilisk he wants us to craft some toy dragons from the basilisk scales gathered.  The toy dragon can be crafted at the Gadget Shoppe.

Build the Dye Maker workshop from the Marketplace and make 5 red and 5 blue dyes.

Make 7 pairs of reinforced gloves at the Tailor (3 pairs plain gloves and 1 brass ingot).  The lava rumble recorder is found by exploring Mount Cinder with Giovanni.

Cold Cash

Once you reach level 39 Magnus starts a new quest, Cold Cash.  First build an Icy Treats workshop from the Marketplace (cost 100,000 gold)

Giovanni vs Magnus

Giovanni vs Magnus special quest starts January 22nd, 2015.

As usual you are prompted when loading the game to start the quest with a popup story... a challenge between magic and science!

You can look up the full extent of the quest by either clicking on your progress bar at the bottom of the screen or clicking on the Event Center to the East of the castle.  Note: I have no idea why they keep telling you your "Weekly Progress" in the 2nd tab of the Event Center because you do not have a week to complete these quests.

Bonus quest - Bonus quests are larger quests that encompass all the smaller quests (in this case A Tinkerer's Wit, listed below) added some additional items.  This particular bonus quest requires us to gather 100 grey adamant ore, sell at least 10 of them through Sea Trade, explore Mount Cinder 7 times.

A Tinkerer's Wit - the first 6 parts of the special quest are directed by Giovanni, these quests and hints to compleete them can be found by looking at the Event Center.

Chapter 1 slot 1 - Get grey (spelled wrong) adamant ore by building an ore quarry from the resources tab of the Marketplace (cost 7500 gold, 10 minutes to build).

Chapter 1 slot 2 - A molten bolt can be found by exploring Mount Cinder and molten rivets can be crafted at the Gadget Shoppe with your lava hammers and ore you collected during part 1.

Chapter 1 slot 3 - Make a telescope base at the Gadget Shoppe (takes 6 hrs)

Chapter 2 slot 1 - Telescope lenses can be found by collecting ore and crystalized honey can be found at bee hives.

Chapter 2 slot 2 - Craft a lens holder at the Gadget Shoppe and tyrant glue at the Bakery.  Hint: you will need a total of 2 lens holders and 6 tyrant glues for A Tinkerer's Wit VI of VI

Chapter 2 slot 3 - Star maps can be found by collecting brass ingots from Giovanni's house.  Giovanni's telescope is made at the Gadget Shoppe with 2 lens holders, 6 tyrant glue, and 7 telescope lenses.

Magnus' part is next.  He also has a bonus quest, Galvorn for All, which encompasses all 6 of his smaller quests titled Magical Masterplan.

Chapter 3 slot 1 - Buy the Galvorn Forge at the Marketplace for 1,250 gold and 15 minutes to build.

Chapter 3 slot 2 - Craft a bag of stardust at the Tailor with 4 galvorn, 1 stardust, and 1 opal button pouch.  Clairvoyance spell scrolls can be found by collecting axes from Rafael's house.

Chapter 3 slot 3 - Crystal base can be crafted at the Jeweler.  Beard combs are received by harvesting apples.

Chapter 4 slot 1 - Spells of sight are collected by sending heroes to explore the Dragon Ruin.  Ethereal dye is made at the Dye Maker workshop with 1 blue dye, 4 galvorn, and 1 bag of stardust which we made earlier.

Chapter 4 slot 2 - Unenchanted Orbs are found at the galvorn forge.  Witches brew is made at the Trail Kitchen with 3 of each cow toe (gathering milk from cows), black sheep's wool (gathering wool from sheep), and spider's web (Yvette's apparently dirty house).

Chapter 4 slot 3 - At this point I was limited on time and had to decide is spending crowns was worth the rewards of completing this quest.  A clairvoyance crystal can be crafted at the Jeweler using 4 ethereal dyes and 5 unenchanted orbs.

The Fabled Phoenix

After Dyed in the Wool, we are tasked by Magnus with The Fabled Phoenix quest.  Make 2 brass gears at the Gadget Shoppe, get 3 phoenix feathers by exploring the Phoenix Perch located in Cinder Caldera.  The Phoenix Perch is hard to get to just because you need a few ember cleansers to buy the land that leads to this Place of Legend.

A Pirate Queen's Treasure & Tanya's Triumph

After Tanya's Getting Wrecked quest we have A Pirate Queen's Treasure quest.  This is an easy one... get 3 lemons, make 2 octopus bowls at the Stone Carver and send Tanya to the Kraken Cave.

Followed by another easy one... make 4 turquoise opal rings at the Jeweler

Dyed in the Wool

After Magnus' Braving the Basilisk task, his next quest helps and walks us through the Dye Maker workshop.  The Dye Maker costs 35,000 gold and it takes 6 hours to build.

Make yellow dye from lemons and blue dye from blueberries.  Weave 2 plain blankets at the Weaver.

Make red dye with chili peppers.  Dye 4 blankets blue striped and 3 purple striped.  To make purple dye you need red and blue.

To make green dye you need blue and yellow.  Dye 4 green pouches at the Tailor and 5 royal gloves at the Tailor.  These require opal button pouches and plain gloves.

Braving the Basilisk - Magnus & Giovanni

Braving the Basilisk is the title for two different quests, one given by Magnus and one by Giovanni.  They are good ones to do together since they both encompass the same tasks.

Braving the Basilisk by Magnus...

Make brass gears and toy dragons at the Gadget Shoppe.  Collect brass ingots from Giovanni's home in Cinder Caldera

Make basilisk bandages at the Weaver and basilisk necklaces at the Jeweler.

A Whole New World

A Whole New World - January 2015

Okay, I can't say the title without singing a Disney song...

On January 5th, 2015 a new special quest starts.  You are asked to start the event just like any other event by a popup on your screen that you cannot deny.  Who could resist anyway?

For this one we are promised workshop boosts as a reward.  Find out all the details by clicking on either the Event Center in your Kingdom or the progress bar at the bottom of your screen.  This special quest goes along with a parallel quest involving a glass window in the Hall of Heroes (a.k.a. The Castle).

Iv'e found so far that we cannot collect window shards at any of the places listed... so much for trying to get a head start (1/6/15 5:00pm EST)

When clicking on the Event Center, you are shown the time frame in which this event must be completed, the individual quests that it is comprised of, hints on how to achieve these quests, and rewards.

Chapter 1 - slot 1

Collect pumpkins by harvesting squash, make squash soup at the Trail Kitchen, and collect 4 relics by exploring The Ancient Watchtower.

Chapter 1 - slot 2

Shards for the first pane can ONLY be found by sending Magnus to The Ancient Watchtower a few times.  The scroll of identification can be found at the Well of Wishes.  Protected Relics are crafted at the Jeweler.

Chapter 1 - slot 3

Shards for the 2nd pane can ONLY be found at the Gateway of Luck with Magnus.  Identified relics can be crafted at the Jeweler... the bad part is you have to explore the Well of Wishes a couple of times to get 2 scrolls to make them with.  Collect 5 stone tablets by collecting at your basilisk lair.

Chapter 2 - slot 1

Find shards at the Dragon's Ruin with Magnus

Chapter 2 - slot 2

Find shards at the Well of Wishes with Magnus.  This mithril armor is a real pain to make... first you must collect 2 mythril ore from exploring Mount Cinder and 1 enchanted hammer from the lumber to make 1 mythril ingot.  Make 3 of these mythril ingot things to mix with 2 more enchanted hammers to make 1 mithril armor.  Which in short means, you need 6 mythril ore from Mount Cinder and 5 enchanted hammers to make 1 mythril armor.  I might be on this one a while.

Chapter 2 - slot 3

You will find shards for the 5th pane at Dragon's Clutch with Magnus.

Getting Comfortable

A new part of the A Whole New World quest arises and it also has 6 parts.  Personally I think they didn't allow enough time to do all 12 parts of this quest.

Chapter 3 - slot 1

Friendship cakes can be made at the Bakery with 2 honey icing (dropped from bee hives) and 2 carrot cakes.

Chapter 3 - slot 2

Friendship Banners come from exploring the Dragon's Clutch.

Chapter 3 - slot 3

Tokens of friendship are crafted with 1 friendship banner and 2 friendship cakes at the Weaver.  Royal seals are collected about every other time you harvest blueberries.

Chapter 4 - slot 1

Dragon teeth are collected by exploring the Dragon Ruin.

Chapter 4 - slot 2

Well this is as far as I go, because I haven't yet bought the land that the Phoenix lives... so sad that I couldn't finish because of something like that.

The Lure of Obsidian

Magnus' next quest after Hot and Honey is The Lure of Obsidian.  This is a good one to do at the same time as the third part of Giovanni's Ready to Rumble.  Get one obsidian shard from exploring Mount Cinder, make 1 set of obsidian arrows at the Woodshop, and 1 obsidian bracelet at the Jewelers (takes 1 obsidian bead to make which is also crafted at the Jeweler).
